UCI Math & Science Climate Change Investigations Program
This program was sponsored by a grant from the California Partnership for Math and Science Education (CaPMSE) to connect secondary math and science teachers looking for remote teaching support through climate science.
Program Summary
This collaboration between the UCI Math & Science Subject Matter Projects provided an interdisciplinary approach to teaching using Desmos and other free interactive tools to investigate climate change related phenomena. During this 3-part series that included an opportunity for teachers to engage in a virtual lesson, participants had many opportunities to collaborate with math and science colleagues to dive deeper into student sense-making, math and science practices, and equity-centered instruction. All lessons and teacher resources are provided below with pre-made Desmos plans. For any questions, please reach out to scienceproject@uci.eduÂ
