Hello FROM THE

UCI SCIENCE PROJECT

UCI Science Project is grounded in research-based educational practices and understands the paradigm shifts needed for the Next Generation Science Standards. Our goal is to support educators as transformative leaders who build capacity in their schools through empowering learning experiences. We are firmly committed to addressing racial, social, and environmental injustices through collaborative efforts that position educators as agents of change for community action.

Watch this video to understand how we work alongside UCI researchers, staff, community partners, school organizations, and more to bring transformative 21st century science and engineering experiences to students!

*In partnership with UCI Gearup, UCI Civil and Environmental Engineering, UCI Public Health, UCI Anthropology, Community Artists and Activists, NRDC, NASA, and Baldwin Hills Conservancy. We are so grateful for our community partners who helped to bring this program to life!

We are beyond thrilled to partner with Anaheim Union High School District to help bring the Magnolia Agriscience Community Center (MACC) to life for students and the community. Collaborating with UCI researchers across various departments to create 21st century experiences for nearly 30,000 students, we are excited to help students learn about the Environmental Principles and Concepts (EP&Cs) and be more informed decision makers about environmental topics.

ENCEA connects K-16 educators with their regional California Science Project, local nonprofit environmental agencies, county office of education partners, and relevant industry professionals throughout the year for online and in-person events focused on advancing climate and environmental literacy and action.

*This program is supported by the CSMP.

This program is for K-5 teachers looking for ways to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) in culturally relevant and meaningful ways!
Bring STEAM to life through a series of engaging books for your elementary school students at no-cost! All teachers who attend the workshops will receive books in English and Spanish (if available), along with activity materials. The activities can be facilitated in the classroom or students can take the activity kits and books home to use with their families and friends. We’re excited to connect with K-5 educators through this program!

*This program is sponsored by a generous gift from the Crevier Family Foundation.

This is a no-cost online program that seeks to build capacity and STEM identity in K-8 students around exciting hands-on curricula grounded in community environmental issues.

This program brings together UCI faculty and students from the science and engineering departments, informal educators from local non-profit organizations, and teacher leaders to support STEM at the K-8 levels.
